Our Junior Mentor program is a youth leadership training program in which teens participate as mini-apprentices in our farm programs. We believe that the best way to learn is through experience and mentorship. Their experiences generally involve assisting with the supervision and guidance of younger or less experienced campers/customers, and in this way, learn to be a mentor to others. Other skills they learn include animal care including horses if desired, garden work, skills needed for maintenance and repair of facilities, and most importantly, the basic skills of team work and partnership. Most of our Junior Mentors have been a part of our children's programs for a significant period of time prior to reaching the age of Junior Mentor and therefore are aware of the duties that they perform. We do hold high standards for our Junior Mentors, and expect them to be responsible, mature, compassionate, flexible, and good team members. If this sounds like something you would like to do, please apply for a Junior Mentor position.
